Uganda aims to vaccinate 6 million people against "Corona" before reopening schools

Uganda aims to immunize at least 6 million people, equivalent to more than 10% of its population, against the emerging "Corona" virus (Covid-19) by the end of this year before schools resume.

And the British newspaper The Guardian reported that about 4.8 million people out of 6 million in Uganda give high priority, including health workers, teachers, security workers and students over the age of 18.

Once these people are vaccinated, schools will be allowed to reopen in January 2022, while universities and other higher education institutions will reopen on November 1.

Since the first doses of COVID-19 vaccines arrived in Uganda last March, only 600,000 people have been fully vaccinated.
