The IAEA pledges more efforts to combat Corona

The Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi, stressed that the agency is doing important work in combating the Corona pandemic, which still affects many people in various countries of the world, noting that the agency not only provides emergency assistance to those who request it, but also provides sources of science and technology. Speaking Monday at the inauguration of the agency's board of governors, Grossi said the agency has met the needs of 25 national laboratories in Africa, the Americas, Asia Pacific and Europe by acquiring serology packages, molecular diagnostics and genetic sequencing.


He referred to the agency's holding of more than 50 meetings with member states, sister organizations and ongoing global initiatives dedicated to strengthening global preparedness to control diseases of animal origin.
