Thailand will reopen its doors to tourists despite the Corona pandemic next October

Thai Tourism Minister Biphat Rachaketprakarn said that five regions in the country, including the capital, Bangkok, will start implementing their plan to reopen their doors to tourists from the first of next October.

In comments reported by the Thai newspaper Bangkok Post on Tuesday, the tourism minister added that 21 other provinces will also open their doors to tourists from October 15, dispelling doubts about whether the government will be able to move forward with its plan to tackle the epidemic.

He explained that the high number of coronavirus infections is a major obstacle, but the Ministry of Tourism is fully prepared to resume tourism.

For his part, Thai Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul confirmed that the ministry is fully prepared to resume tourism next October, and strict measures will remain in place to limit the registration of new infections.
