Egypt and Romania are studying ways to increase investment cooperation between the two countries

Counselor Mohamed Abdel Wahab, CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones, held a meeting with Enol Arseny, Governor of the Romanian state of Nemat, Chairman of the Egyptian-Romanian Business Council, and a delegation of businessmen from Romania and the Romanian Embassy in Cairo, to discuss ways to activate and increase investment cooperation between Egypt and Romania.

Counselor Mohamed Abdel Wahab stressed the General Authority for Investment's endeavor to open more prospects for cooperation with the Romanian side. To attract and encourage Romanian investments in many vital sectors, especially the petroleum industries, infrastructure, wood industries, and spinning and weaving, as well as reviewing the investment opportunities available in Romania and presenting them to Egyptian investors interested in accessing Eastern European markets.

The meeting included a review of the services and projects provided by some of the participating Romanian companies, which included COMES for the manufacture of mechanical equipment, pressure vessels used in the chemical and petrochemical industries, KÖBER for paints and decorative products, RIFIL for the manufacture of spinning and textile fibers, MAVGO HOLDING and TRUST CCDP in the field of road construction. and related construction works, NORD ARIN FURNITURE MANUFACTURING COMPANY.

For his part, Enol Arseny praised the work system within the Investor Services Center of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones, and the various services provided to investors.

At the end of the meeting, it was agreed to hold a business forum with major Romanian companies interested in investing in Egypt. In order to introduce them to the available investment opportunities, and the recent attractive climate in Egypt for investment.
