Algeria affirms its commitment to support efforts to build a world free of nuclear weapons


 Algerian Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra affirmed his country's commitment to support efforts aimed at achieving the goals of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty and building a world free of nuclear weapons.

 

This came during a meeting with Lamamra, today, Thursday, with the Executive Secretary of the Preparatory Committee for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization, Robert Floyd, on the sidelines of his participation in the work of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

 

The Algerian Foreign Minister wrote a tweet - through his official account on the micro-blogging site (Twitter) - "with the Executive Secretary of the Preparatory Committee for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization, Robert Floyd, to confirm Algeria's commitment to support its efforts to achieve the goals of the treaty and build a world free of nuclear weapons." .

The Algerian Foreign Minister also affirmed that his country will continue to support the UN track on a comprehensive ban on nuclear tests, based on the tragedies and pain it was subjected to as a result of the destructive nuclear tests of the colonial power.
