Vatican: Pope has a slight fever and continues his recovery journey

The Vatican announced that Pope Francis "continues his recovery path" at Gemelli Hospital in the Italian capital, Rome, after he underwent a surgical removal of the left half of his colon last Sunday, according to the Italian "AKI" agency.

"Yesterday evening, the Holy Father developed a slight fever, and this morning he underwent routine microbiological tests and a CT scan of the chest and abdomen, and the result was negative," said Matteo Bruni, director of the Vatican's Press House.

Bruni concluded by saying: "The Holy Father continues his treatment and oral nutrition." At this stage, he directs his eyes to all those who suffer, expressing his closeness to the sick, especially those who are in dire need of care.

If the development continues in the case of the Pope's recovery, it is not excluded that the Pope will be able to perform Sunday prayers from the hospital window, which is his only activity scheduled for July, when he reduces his actions to the maximum comfort, according to local media, although there is no official confirmation.
