Minister of Petroleum: The launch of the Egypt Exploration Gateway succeeded in attracting the attention of international companies

Tarek El Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, received Pablo Arrian, the Chilean ambassador in Cairo, and Denis Abu Dinin, president of the Chilean Enab Setrol Company and general manager of the company’s branch in Egypt. in the Egyptian petroleum sector.


During the meeting, El Molla stressed his welcome to the Chilean government company, which has been operating in Egypt since 1998 in the Western Desert, and that its plans to pump more investments in the field of oil and gas exploration come within the framework of the Ministry of Petroleum program to increase production rates, adding that there are many promising opportunities in A number of areas with good petroleum prospects for the company in the coming period, noting that the current trend implemented by the petroleum sector in applying modern technologies and promoting exploration and research areas in an advanced manner in light of the launch of the Egypt Exploration and Production Gateway EUG has succeeded in attracting the attention of international companies and encouraging them to strengthen its investments in Egypt and increase its activities.


For her part, Abu Dineen confirmed that the company plans to expand its activities and pump additional investments, especially in the field of research and exploration in light of the distinguished results it has achieved in Egypt, and that the company seeks to intensify drilling activities in its concession area east of Ras Qattara in light of the distinguished results of the seismic searches conducted by the company. In its concession areas at the end of 2020, noting the company’s full commitment to applying occupational safety and health standards and preserving the environment and its keenness to exchange experiences with the petroleum sector regarding efforts to develop non-conventional sources of energy, especially green hydrogen, where Enab is currently participating in the implementation of studies to establish a production plant Hydrogen in the southern region of Chile.


The talks were attended by Eng. Abed Ezz Al Rijal, CEO of the Petroleum and Geological Authority, Ashraf Farag, the ministry's first undersecretary for agreements and exploration.
