The Algerian-Libyan Economic Forum concludes its work with an agreement to establish a joint business council


The conclusion of the Algerian-Libyan Economic Forum today, Sunday, witnessed the conclusion of an agreement establishing a business council between the two countries with the aim of enhancing trade exchange and raising the level of investment flows.


The agreement was signed on the Algerian side by the General Director of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Wahiba Bahloul, and on the Libyan side, by the President of the Federation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Libya, Muhammad Al-Raeed.


Wahiba Bahloul, director general of the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that the establishment of an Algerian-Libyan business council would allow the promotion of economic relations between the two countries, especially in the private sector.


She added that this council would act as a "permanent mechanism" to follow up the economic and commercial activities of businessmen in the two countries, as it would undertake to study all obstacles that businessmen may encounter during the exercise of their activities.


She explained that this council will work to overcome all obstacles and difficulties by raising the concerns of businessmen of both countries to the higher authorities.


For his part, the President of the Federation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Libya, Muhammad Al-Ra’id, said that the council will work to follow up the economic movement of the two countries and facilitate various economic transactions for the benefit of businessmen.


He added that this council would be a space for continuous consultation and would work on exchanging experiences between Libya and Algeria, including mechanisms for enhancing fruitful cooperation between the two brotherly countries.
