Palestine and the "World Food" program discuss meeting the needs of the affected families in Gaza

Palestinian Minister of Social Development Ahmed Majdalani discussed with the representative of the World Food Program in Palestine Samer Abdel Jaber, ways of joint cooperation to relieve and provide for the basic needs of the affected families, as a result of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.

During his meeting with Abdul Jaber at the ministry’s headquarters in the city of Ramallah, Majdalani confirmed, according to the Palestinian News Agency "Wafa", that the ministry will continue its cooperation with the World Food Program to recruit more support for the program's projects in the Gaza Strip, and to provide basic, food and health needs for the affected families in order to achieve security. Food for them.

Majdalani briefed Abdul Jaber on the most prominent developments in the field situation in the Gaza Strip, where 75 thousand people have been displaced from their homes, and that 58 thousand are now living in 53 shelter centers distributed in the governorates of the Strip.

He stressed the need for concerted efforts to provide urgent interventions, in terms of cash and in-kind assistance, and health-related interventions for the benefit of the sector.

Majdalani said, "The ministry is intensifying contacts with all local and international social partners in order to secure aid for our people in the Gaza Strip, who suffer from a shortage of materials as a result of the continuous barbaric aggression by the Israeli occupation forces."

He added: "The Israeli occupation is committing war massacres and genocide by targeting innocent civilians, women and children, and destroying homes and infrastructure."

He continued: "We are carrying out a wide campaign with all institutions to implement a package of emergency interventions for the benefit of our people in the Gaza Strip despite the difficult situation."

For his part, Abdul Jaber stressed continuing cooperation with the Ministry to provide the needs of families affected by the aggression on the Gaza Strip, and said: "We are working with you and all donors to mobilize more funding for the program to fulfill the obligations towards the affected families, in order to achieve food security for them."

It is noteworthy that the "social development", in cooperation with the partners, has provided since the beginning of the aggression 1030 food and health parcels for the affected families, as well as 5200 simple household mattresses for the benefit of the affected population residing in the shelter centers.
